Meet Dr. Christina Erdman
My name is Dr. Christina Erdman, and it's truly a pleasure to connect with you. If you're here, chances are you're seeking a different path for your beloved companion—a path that offers renewed hope, gentle healing, and a deeper sense of well-being. That's exactly what led me to create Holistic House.
My Path to Holistic Veterinary Medicine
My journey into veterinary medicine began with a profound love for animals, a curiosity about the world, and a deep-seated desire to help living beings thrive. After graduating from veterinary school at St. George's University in 2018, I began the typical path as General Practitioner. For years, I immersed myself in traditional Western veterinary practices, dedicated to providing the best care possible. Yet, even as I developed my skills in diagnostics and treatments, a part of me sensed there was more to true healing—a desire to address the root causes of imbalance, not just the symptoms.
The seeds of this holistic approach were planted early in my career, during an unforgettable experience that opened my eyes to the incredible potential beyond conventional methods. In elementary school, a horse at the barn I was training had been struggling with debilitating lameness for years. Despite countless interventions through Western medicine—every treatment imaginable, every specialist consulted—his condition persisted, dimming his once vibrant spark. It was disheartening, watching both the horse and his dedicated owner grow increasingly frustrated and lose hope.
Then, something remarkable happened. This horse began receiving acupuncture treatments. What I witnessed was nothing short of miraculous. Within just a few sessions, the very lameness that had plagued him for years began to recede. His movements became fluid, his energy returned, and that inherent zest for life reignited. Against all odds, this horse didn't just recover; he went on to qualify for "World" in barrel racing. It was an awe-inspiring transformation, a powerful testament to how seemingly insurmountable challenges could be overcome with a different kind of healing touch. That experience solidified a powerful truth for me: there are indeed "limitless possibilities" when we look beyond the familiar.
That pivotal moment sparked a passionate exploration into the ancient wisdom of Eastern medicine. I delved into Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) through Chi University starting in 2020, immersing myself in acupuncture, herbal therapies, food therapy, and more. I discovered how these holistic approaches work in harmony with the body's innate healing abilities, offering gentle yet profound support. It's been an incredible journey of learning and growth, allowing me to integrate these powerful modalities with my Western medical knowledge, creating a truly comprehensive approach to animal care.
Making Dreams a Reality
Today, through Holistic House, I bring this integrative philosophy directly to your doorstep here in New Smyrna Beach and surrounding areas. I understand the stress and anxiety that can come with clinic visits for your pet, and I believe that healing begins in a calm, comfortable environment. My goal is to transform what might feel like a hopeless situation into one filled with peace and optimism.
Whether we're exploring acupuncture to ease discomfort, using cold laser therapy for cellular regeneration, crafting a personalized food therapy plan, or utilizing the calming benefits of PEMF mats, every treatment is tailored with compassion and a deep understanding of your pet's unique needs. This isn't just about treating symptoms; it's about nurturing their entire being—body, mind, and spirit—and empowering you with the knowledge to make truly impactful choices for their health.
Beyond my passion for veterinary medicine, you'll often find me drawn to the calming rhythm of the ocean—whether I'm surfing, scuba diving, paddle boarding, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk on our beautiful beaches. My love for nature extends to gardening, and I'm deeply committed to animal conservation, especially for our magnificent sea turtles. These personal passions aren't separate from my work; they infuse my practice with a deep sense of connection, balance, and reverence for life.
My greatest joy is watching animals heal and flourish, and seeing the peace and hope return to their loving pet parents. My deepest purpose is to be a healer—to help raise the vibration for animals, our loved ones, and the earth itself. I am here to offer you not just veterinary care, but true peace of mind, guiding you and your cherished companion towards a life of greater vitality and harmony. I can't wait to embark on this healing journey with you.
